Eastern White Pine - (EWP)

Eastern White Pine (EWP) seasons well, dries evenly and remains straight and true, EWP is an ideal structural wood for use in residential and commercial construction.  Due to the small growth size of this species, it tends to include a lot of Heart Center (often called Boxed Heart), which tends to check.  Mainly used for interior applications, but can be used for exterior applications if well maintained.

Eastern White Pine is one of the most common and widely used timbers for construction lumber in the northeast United States.

Heartwood is a light brown, sometimes with a slightly reddish hue in color, with sapwood being a pale yellow to nearly white. Color tends to darken with age.
